If the item you’ve ordered is coming from outside the EU, then you may need to pay a customs charge. If you’re unsure, please check with the retailer you’re buying from.
A customs charge is essentially paying VAT on an item as you would if you bought it within the UK. This is controlled by the government.
How does it affect your Doddle experience?
Most carrier companies will deliver a slip, detailing how to pay a customs charge. Where possible we will email you with the details and how to proceed.
Once you’ve paid for the charge, the parcel will be delivered to store, and you’ll be able to collect as you normally would.
The alternative is that they charge you further down the line, which means that collecting from us will be no different than usual.
